LANCASTER TWP., Pa. – A firefighter suffers an electric shock while battling a two alarm fire in Lancaster Township, just outside the city limits. The fire broke out at about 9:32 pm in a three story apartment building at 905 East King Street. The first firefighters to arrive on the scene reported smoke and fire above the roof of a third floor apartment. A second alarm went out for more manpower. A total of 14 station responded to the scene.
The firefighter who was shocked was transported to Lancaster General Hospital for observation.
The cause of the blaze is under investigation. The American Red Cross is providing assistance to an adult and three children left homeless by the fire.
