RRTA bus crashes after driver passes out

LANCASTER, Pa. – The intersection of South Duke and East Vine Streets is expected to be closed for hours this evening following a crash involving a Red Rose Transit Authority bus. Early reports are the driver of the bus passed out behind the wheel. It happened at 4:15 pm Tuesday afternoon.  The bus struck several cars and the King Street Parking Garage at S. Duke and E. Vine Streets.

No serious injuries were reported to bus passengers or to other drivers. The bus driver apparently suffered some type of medical problem. The unidentified driver was transported to Lancaster General Hospital.

The investigation into the incident continues.
