LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – An Ephrata man is arrested on multiple charges including assault of a police officer. On Wednesday August 5,  Northern Lancaster County Report Police responded to a report of a  burglary in progress at 200 W. Burkholder Drive, Clay Township, Lititz.

Brandon Lee Rea, 22, of 24 South Maple Street, Ephrata was reported to have forced his way into the residence of the victim, engaged in a physical altercation with the victim, and then struck the victim over the head with a metal object, causing a large laceration on the victims head.

The victim was transported by ambulance to the Ephrata Community Hospital for his injuries.  Police say Rea and the victim are acquainted.

As officers were taking Rae into custody, he became combative and repeatedly spit on and kicked officers. One of the officers was treated for minor injuries and released.
