York County, Pa — A 2010 Northeastern graduate who was shot in the neck while on a mission in Afghanistan in 2012 has died. Army Corporal Matthew Hanes passed away earlier Friday. As a result of his injury, he had been paralyzed from the chest down. In 2013, he returned to York County after extensive physical therapy.
