COOLER AND MORE COMFORTABLE
A cold front sliding east brought showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Cooler, drier air will funnel in behind it as we make our way through the evening. Clouds will slowly break up and clear and a northwest breeze will help out. Lows will be cooler in the low to mid 60s under mostly clear skies.
We will still be under the influence of some upper level energy, which will swing through the trough that sits overhead. This will result in afternoon clouds bubbling up and maybe an isolated brief shower. Highs will be below average in the upper 70s to near 80.
Thursday, high pressure builds in at the surface and the upper level trough lifts north losing its grip on the area. Temperatures will still run cooler in the upper 70s to near 80 after morning lows in the upper 50s and low 60s. Plenty more sunshine expected with a lighter breeze on Thursday.
REMEMBER THE PERSEID METEOR SHOWER THIS WEEK
The next few nights you’ll want to take advantage of the mostly clear skies to view the Perseid Meteor Showers. You may see them tonight but they will peak Wednesday and Thursday morning with 60 to 100 meteors per hour. For best viewing, get away from city lights and position yourself in the darkest area possible.
SUNSHINE BRINGS THE HEAT
Temperatures begin to rebound under a westerly flow for Friday. Plenty of sunshine will help to boost temperatures to the mid 80s. A weak cold front comes through Saturday bringing the threat for isolated showers and thunderstorms. It remains warm in the mid 80s. Second half of the weekend, looks dry and sunny. In fact, it remains dry through Monday and most of Tuesday with warming temperatures in the mid to upper 80s. The humidity will be on the increase too. There may be a few isolated storms on Tuesday but it looks like the best chance holds off a few more days.
Have a super week everyone!
