ADAMS COUNTY, Pa.–A Maryland teen is in custody after leading police on a chase in Adams and York counties in a stolen vehicle on Monday, according to Pennsylvania State Police reports.

The unidentified 17-year-old is facing numerous charges including fleeing and eluding police, aggravated assault and receiving stolen property.

Pennsylvania State Police were alerted Monday to a report of a vehicle stolen out of Maryland earlier that morning. Troopers spotted the stolen vehicle around 9 a.m. along Route 15 in Adams County, near the York County line and tried to pull the driver over.  Instead of stopping, the driver sped off.

Troopers pursued the vehicle just north of  Dillsburg–where Carroll Township police joined in the chase. During the pursuit–the suspect hit a police cruiser, investigators said.

A short time later–the stolen vehicle went off the road and into a cornfield where it came to a stop. The 17-year-old driver was taken into custody. No one was hurt in the chase.

Maryland authorities also plan to file charges against the teen.
