SHREWSBURY, Pa.–A 27-year-old man has been arrested for taking upskirt photos of women in York County, according to a news release from the Southern Regional Police Department.

Sean E. Mathews, of Felton, is charged with invasion of privacy, disorderly conduct and harassment. He was arraigned and taken to York County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Officers responded to the Giant Foods on Mt. Airy Road in Shrewsbury on Aug. 13 for a report of a man taking pictures up a woman’s skirt. The victim told police she was grocery shopping when she felt someone behind her. When she turned around a man, later identified as Mathews, had his cell phone pointed up her skirt, police said. Mathews quickly ran away after the woman confronted him. Investigators were able to track Mathews down thanks to quick thinking by employees who were able to write down his license plate information.

When officers went to Mathews home–he told investigators he knew why they were there and that he was currently on probation. He said the pictures taken at the store were still on his mobile phone, according to police reports. Mathews was taken into custody and told a family member he was being arrested for “the same thing as last time,” authorities said

In a separate case, police said Mathews plead guilty to invasion of privacy and disorderly conduct charges. He was just sentenced on Aug. 3 and was slated to report to prison on Sept. 3.
