LANCASTER, Pa.–Police said an employee at a pub in Lancaster City shot a man after an altercation outside the bar early Sunday morning.

It happened around 2:20 a.m. across the street from Molly’s Pub located at 253 E. Chestnut Street in Lancaster.

According to police reports, three  employees witnessed an altercation taking place across the street from the bar. The trio, two of them armed with guns, went to see what was going on. That’s when police said Garrett J. Wright, 22, of East Hempfield and Santos Maldonado, 22, of East Petersburg, simultaneously got out of a vehicle and pointed guns at the employees. The employee fired his gun twice and hit Maldonado in the arm and chest. Both Wright and Maldonado fled the scene.

Police found Maldonado on the 200 block of North Plum Street. He was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover, police said.

Officers arrested Wright along the 300 block of Walnut Street.

Wright is charged with persons not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell or transfer firearms, firearms not to be carried without a license and  simple assault. Maldonado is charged with simple assault.

It remains unclear if the employee who shot Maldonado will be charged.
