LEWISBERRY, Pa. - A crowd of 32,000 were in South Williamsport and watched Red Land play their second game of the Little League World Series Sunday. It was a nail bitter! Fans at KoKoMo's Sports Bar and Grill were barely breathing as the bases were loaded and Jaden Henline stepped up to bat. Henline hit a single bringing in two runs. The final score was 9-8.
Many people watching, the games, are wearing red state championship shirts that have #whynotus on them. The team sold them before the series began. They have become so popular Darrenkamp's has agreed to sell them for the team. They are expecting a shipment on Monday.
Some people could not wait and asked local screen printer Chad Foutz, from Absolute Graphics, if he planned to make any shirts. Originally, he said no, but the requests kept coming. He decided to make one that incorporated a patriotic theme. The response has been overwhelming. He is selling the shirts for ten dollars. Five dollars from each sale will go to Red Land Little League. The organization can then decide how they would like to divide the money.
Foutz's son once played for Red Land Little League and he feels it's a great organization and a good way to give back to a team that has brought a community together.
