Lower Paxton bank robbery suspect arrested in York

LOWER PAXTON TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A New Bloomfield man wanted in connection with a Lower Paxton Township bank robbery has been arrested in York County, according to police.

Jesse Shoemaker, 25, was arrested Monday night at a motel on Arsenal Road in York. At the time of his arrest, Shoemaker was in possession of heroin, police said.

Shoemaker is accused of robbing the Metro Bank along the 4700 block of Jonestown Road in Lower Paxton Township on Aug. 23, according to police reports. Investigator say he gave the teller a note and demanded money. The entire robbery was caught on camera.

It wasn’t long after the surveillance photos were released through news organizations and social media, the Lower Paxton Township police received numerous tips on the robber’s true identity.

Shoemaker was taken to York County Prison and will be arraigned Tuesday on the robbery warrant.
