EAST LAMPETER TWP., Lancaster County, Pa. — The assistant principal at Conestoga Valley High School passed away early this morning. According to a release issued by the school district, Perry Pritchard, 43, died following a heart attack. The school has set up support for grieving students. The local ministerium is providing faith-based support for any students and staff from 3 to 7 p.m. at Worship Center. Saturday, the high school will be open to students from 9 a.m. to noon, and staff will be on hand to offer additional support.

ON THE PASSING OF ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL MR. PERRY PRITCHARD
It is with sadness that I announce the passing of our high school assistant principal, Mr. Perry Pritchard, early this morning following a heart attack. He was 43. We extend our deepest sympathy to Mr. Pritchard’s family and friends during this difficult time.
Mr. Pritchard was a solid CV administrator who was always willing to assist and lend his support in whatever way he could. He was a special advocate for students that needed extra support or alternative options in their education. He served as assistant principal for 10 years and a middle school health teacher for five years prior to that. His passing will leave a tremendous void in our school community.
This news comes as a shock to us all, and we will need to support one another in this difficult time. We are taking steps to help students and staff who are experiencing strong emotions at this time. Counselors from across our district will be available all day to talk with students at the high school, as necessary. We are providing supports to staff who are grieving as well.
After school, the local ministerium is providing faith-based support for any students and staff from 3 to 7 p.m. at Worship Center. Tomorrow, Aug. 29, we will reopen the high school to students from 9 a.m. to noon, and staff will be on hand to offer additional support.
