YORK, Pa. - If you're looking for an artist to add to your morning music playlist, you should consider giving Kayla Kroh a shot. The high school student and York native started her career at just 13 years old. In 2012, Kroh released an album called "On Your Own." The album showcases her writing abilities with five original songs she wrote between the ages of 13 and 14.

"It's weird to think I wrote songs that young," Kroh said.

Kroh is now a senior at Central High School. She's about to turn 18 so she will be able to play at a lot more venues in the area. Kroh says teachers and staff at her school are very understanding about her pursuit of a music career.

"Thank goodness Central is really great," she said, " They work with my schedule and understand that I have a unique job and as long as I keep my grades up, which I do, they're okay with me coming in and making up the work."

Kroh says she would like to attend Townson University for music business.

Kayla Kroh's upcoming events:

York Fair: September 14th, 17th and18th

Fall Fest: October 3rd
