WEST HANOVER TWP, Pa- A State Trooper was involved in a crash that injured a 61-year-old Hummelstown woman.

State Police say, Trooper Phillips was responding to a call when he was involved in an accident just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

Police say Phillips was traveling west on State Route 39, with his emergency lights on, when he drove through the intersection of State Route 39 and the southbound offramp from Interstate 81.

Authorities say the woman was coming off the ramp and attempting to turn left onto State Route 39, when she was struck by Phillips, who was driving through a red light at the intersection.

Both vehicles suffered serious damage and had to be towed from the scene.

Police say the woman suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment.
