EAST DRUMORE TOWNSHIP, Pa.–A Quarryville man charged with murdering a mother and daughter during a violent home-invasion in East Drumore Township in June will face the death penalty if convicted, according to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office.

In a hearing Thursday morning, Lancaster County Assistant District Attorney Christine Wilson gave notice to the court that the prosecution is seeking the death penalty against Leeton Thomas.

Thomas, 38, is accused of killing Lisa Sheetz, 44, and her 16-year-old daughter at their home along Spring Valley Road in East Drumore Township on June 11.  Sheetz’s 15-year-old daughter was critically injured in the attack but was able to escape. Thomas was out on bail at the time of the killings on charges of sexual assault, investigators said.

He is currently housed in Lancaster County Prison without bail. Thomas is charged with two counts of homicide, one count of attempted homicide and a count of burglary.

Prosecutors allege Thomas killed Sheetz and her daughter to prevent them from testifying in the sex-assault case.
