EAST HEMPFIELD, TWP- A storm damaged a warehouse and multiple houses overnight in Lancaster County.

According to emergency personnel, the most significant storm damage was to a warehouse located along the 400 block of  Running Pump Road in East Hempfield Township.

Authorities say strong winds ripped  pieces of the roof off of the warehouse and blew onto Route 30. When fire police arrived to block off the road, the fire truck was hit by flying debris.

No one was injured.

Township officials continue to work with the building owner to determine the amount of damage to the structure.

East Hempfield Township police say they received at least 40 weather related calls over a three-hour period of time early Wednesday morning.

According to PPL more than 1,000 outages were reported all through out Lancaster.

Multiple trees and power lines were down along Marietta Avenue, close to the Route 30 overpass.

A call was put out to the National Weather Service for them to come and survey the extent of the damages and to see if a tornado did touch down in the area.

NWS is expected to be in Lancaster County sometime Wednesday afternoon.
