HARRISBURG, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will hold an informational public meeting on Wednesday, October 7, for the Route 11/15 Rock Slope Safety Improvement Project scheduled to start next spring just south of Marysville in Perry County. A portion of the project is also located in Cumberland County. The meeting will be held at the Marysville Fire Hall at 326 Cameron Street in Marysville and will follow an “open house format” between 2:30 PM and 8 PM. The open house format allows people to attend at their convenience anytime between 2:30 PM and 8 PM to view the displays and speak one-on-one with project personnel. Also included will be information about the Route 11/15 road closure, alternate routes, safety and speed reduction measures that will take place on the alternate routes, design details, incentives and penalties for the contractor, and project schedule.

“We want to get information out to the public and business community in advance of the project so that people can prepare for it,” said Mike Keiser, district executive for PennDOT Engineering District 8 which covers south central Pennsylvania. “All the information that will be on display at the public open house meeting will be posted on PennDOT’s website approximately one week prior to the meeting for people to view, read and become familiar with. The meeting provides people the opportunity to talk with our project personnel, ask questions and discuss their concerns.”

PennDOT’s website address is www.penndot.gov. The direct link for the Route 11/15 project information on the website is http://penndot.gov/11-15_Marysville_RockSlopeProject. The website already contains detailed information, but will soon be updated with the same project materials that will be presented at the public meeting.
