HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Camp Curtin Academy will be closed on Friday due to a persistent sewer problem.

Harrisburg School District announced Thursday evening that their Facilities Director/Team and a local contractor were able to locate the source of a sewer blockage, but despite their best effort repair will not be completed in time for the school to open on Friday.

“In addition to classroom instruction, the safety of our students and staff is a top priority,” said Superintendent, Dr. Sybil Knight-Burney. “Unfortunately, given the ongoing plumbing situation, Camp Curtin Academy will be closed on Friday, October 9th. Additionally, the EXPLORE After School Program will be canceled for tomorrow(Friday). However, we fully expect students to return to school on Monday, October, 12.

The Harrisburg School District has notified parents and guardians of Camp Curtin students via its School Messenger system.
