YORK COUNTY, Pa. – An intense three hour search for a man police say may have been armed and dangerous ended peacefully in Lower Windsor Township late Friday afternoon.
Destry Arnold, of York Haven, who has a prior felony conviction, was wanted for illegal possession of a firearm.
A constable attempted to execute a warrant for Arnold in the area of Craley and Spring Hollow roads, but Arnold kicked an officer and ran away.
Police from several adjacent departments, York County Deputy Sheriff’s and a State Police helicopter converged on the area to search for Arnold shortly after 1 pm.
They finally located him by tracking his cell phone to an abandoned house in the 1900 block of Craley road. Heavily armed police quickly set up a perimeter. Arnold eventually surrendered without further incident.
He was taken to York County Prison to be arraigned.
