CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.–A 54-year-old man was brutally assaulted during a robbery in Chambersburg early Tuesday, police said.
It happened along the 200 block of Merriweather Drive around 1:05 a.m. Vijay Lahar, of Chambersburg, told investigators he was assaulted by a man who hit him several times in the head with a gun, according to police reports. Lahar was initially taken to Chambersburg Hospital and then flown to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment, police said.
