Teen charged with homicide in crash that killed Mechanicsburg woman in June

UPPER ALLEN TWP- Police are charging a juvenile male with involuntary manslaughter and say he was texting while driving,  resulting in a Mechanicsburg woman’s death back in June.

Investigators say the 16-year-old boy  crossed the center line while driving around 2 p.m. along the  400 block of the Gettysburg Pike on June 15th.

The victim Gia, Glinatsis, 37,  was killed after her car  collided with the boys before slamming into a tree police said.

Glinatsis was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are charging the teenage boy with several counts including  homicide by vehicle and texting while driving.

Police are not releasing the identity of the boy because he is a juvenile. A juvenile written allegation will be forwarded to the Cumberland County Juvenile Probation Department.
