Volunteers spruce up the city of Lancaster

LANCASTER, Pa. - People in the City of Lancaster are making sure the streets look fresh.

Lancaster Penn Square Rotary and teamed up with the County Conservancy to plant 28 trees within the city.

Volunteers say the project is a great way to improve life in Lancaster, one tree at a time!

Co-chair of Neighbors United, Andrew Whalen says, "We have actually identified 165 locations in our neighborhood alone which needs shade trees and by having 165 locations, and just scratching the surface with 20 right now. Really, there's so much opportunity in the next 3 years and we plan on filling every one of those spots."

A lot of people were involved in today's project including, Lancaster City Alliance, TreeVitalize, PA Master Naturalist Volunteers, and Neighbor's United.
