DURHAM, NC – Wyomissing Borough in Berks County has earned the title of happiest place in the Commonwealth of  Pennsylvania, according to Durham, North Carolina based HomeSnacks.  Three other local communities are the top ten.  Lititz Borough in Lancaster County is ranked 4th, Mechanicsburg Borough ranked 8th in Cumberland County, and Hershey, is ranked 9th in Dauphin County join Wyomissing in the top ten.

In order to come up with its happiest places list, HomeSnacks criteria included percentage of residents with a college degree, avenue commute times, employment rates, cost of living, crime, sunny days, percentage of married couples and percentage of home owners.

Homesnacks actually ranked 109 of what it called the Happiest Cities in Pennsylvania.  The liberal use of the word city, illustrates that they are based in the Tar Heel state..

On the other side of the coin, HomeSnacks included Reading and York among the top five most miserable cities to live in Pennsylvania. To read the entire list from top to bottom click here.
