Overnight fire rips through Paxtang business

We’re following breaking news out of Dauphin County.

That’s where an overnight fire ripped through several businesses in Paxtang Borough.

According to Keldeen Stambaugh, the Paxtang Borough Manager, the fire broke out shortly after midnight along the 3200 block of Pike Street.

Stambaugh says the fire caused the roof to collapse as well as extensive water and smoke damage to the building.

According to Chief Todd Zwigart with the Paxtang Fire Company, there were three businesses located within the building.

They were JB Custom Counters, a tattoo parlor, and an engineering firm.

The fire also caused a power outage to several houses and businesses located within about a two to three block radius from where the fire started.

We’re told the owners of the businesses have been notified.

As of 5:30 a.m. crews were still at the scene working to figure out what caused the fire as well as working to restore power to the nearby area.

No one was hurt.
