LANCASTER, Pa. – An 85-year-old Lancaster City woman is the victim of a sweepstakes scam. She lost $5000.00. She told police that she received calls in October from an unknown party who indicated she had won a sweepstakes and that if she sent the money to a subject in Florida, a Mercedes would be delivered.
A neighbor questioned this after hearing the story as the elderly woman was on her way to the bank to send more money. The neighbor convinced her to contact police.
