LANCASTER, Pa. — A 23-year-old man plead guilty Tuesday in Lancaster County court for causing a fatal crash in January that killed his passenger, according to prosecutors.

Erick Lopez, of Lancaster, plead guilty to vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment and other traffic violations.

The crash happened along the 200 block of South Queen Street in Lancaster on January 3. Police said Lopez was driving more than 100 miles per hour, in a posted 25 mile per hour zone, before crashing into a utility pole. His passenger, 23-year-old David Castro-Valdez, died in the crash.

Sentencing will be scheduled at a later date.
