Pedestrian struck and killed along Route 30 in York

YORK, Pa- A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing Route 30 on Thursday evening.

According to the York County coroners office, the crash happened  around 7:55 p.m. near the Mount Zion Road exit.

The name of the victim, and additional details into the crash, will be released when next of kin is notified, officials said.

Cause of death is multiple blunt force trauma due to being a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, officials said. There will be no autopsy.

Springettsbury Township Police are investigating the crash.

Route 30 West was closed for over two hours due to the investigation.
