YORK, Pa.-- People across the country are getting in the spirit of giving, ahead of the holidays.

In York, folks stuffed a truck with food at Santander Stadium on Saturday.
The York Rescue Mission hosted the food drive, collecting canned goods and other food donations in hopes of filling up a box truck.

The event is hosted in partnership with WARM 103 FM, the York Revolution, and several other organizations, in an effort to give back to the community.

"We're just trying to help families in need. We know that a lot of families are still struggling, especially this time of year, so whatever we can do to help families in need, because this time of year it's important, right around Thanksgiving and Christmas," says Chris Tyler with Warm 103.

Matthew Carey, Executive Director of the York Rescue Mission says, "This is actually wonderful. It's a collaborative partnership that I just can't say enough about. Everybody joining together in a cause to feed those less fortunate, without, this holiday season."

Each person who made a donation was able to take a turn at turkey bowling to win a prize!
