MANHEIM, TWP, PA – Police arrested a Lancaster man accused of stealing $466 worth of merchandise from the Walmart in Lancaster County.
According to police , Jay Farley, 25, ran out of the store when security guards confronted him and then drove off.
Officials said they tried to stop Farley, but he hit a car in the parking lot and then ran a red light along Fruitville Pike.
Officers spotted the car, which they later discovered was stolen, in the front yard of a house on Amity Drive, but when they pursued, the car sped into the backyard, hitting a tree.
Police said Farley then ran from the car, but they were able to track him down and arrest him.
Farley is now charged with Retail Theft, Persons not to Possess a Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property, Recklessly Endangering, Possession of Heroin, Hit & Run, Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police and several summary offenses.
Manheim Township Police said Farley also had a warrant out for Burglary.
No one was hurt in the crash police said.
