HARRISBURG, Pa.– In light of the recent shooting that killed 14 people in San Bernardino, people are coming together to pray for an end to these situations. The Haadee Mosque in Harrisburg came together on Friday to pray for the victims.

Leaders in the Muslim community said the people who did these crimes do not represent their religion. They said people need to reach outside their comfort zones to understand other beliefs.

“There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world and only a small number of them are the ones who are radicalized. The overwhelming majority are peaceful,” spokesperson Dr. Mubashir Mumtaz said. “People need to go out and get to know them so we can all live in harmony.”

The mosque will hold a candlelight vigil on Saturday evening.
