WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The owners of a local business, along with state officials, are making sure our military service members have a very Merry Christmas. Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding and Pennsylvania Adjutant General James Joseph helped the owners of Strathmeyer Christmas Trees fill trucks with Christmas trees to kick off the state's participation in the Trees for Troops weekend.

Located on at the York Fairgrounds, the business is offering their trees to military families across the country and overseas. Customers can choose a tree to be sent out to help spread Christmas cheer to those in the military.

"It's a little touch of Christmas and the holidays and brings back some memories for those who are not able to stand here and choose a tree, [they] can at least have a fresh tree coming to them," Redding said.

This event runs through the weekend.

FedEx will be picking up and shipping the trees just in time for the holidays.
