HARRISBURG, Pa. – A federal judge sentences Dylan Blum, 22, of Harrisburg to four years in prison for committing five bank robberies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Blum was convicted after he plead guilty to the December 9, 2014 robbery of the Mid Penn Bank branch on North Front Street in which he stole $1,358. Blum was also charged last July with the robberies of four additional banks in December 2014 and last January in Northampton County and in New Jersey. He passed a threatening note to tellers during three of those robberies. He also attempted to rob another bank but was prevented by employees from entering the bank.

Blum made off with a total of $5,788 from the three banks he was able to rob. He turned himself in to the Harrisburg Police on January 3.  In addition to his prison sentence Blum was ordered to make restitution to the banks he robbed in the amount of $7,146.
