ANNVILLE, Pa.--
"It makes me angry, but it's become a norm," Lebanon Valley College junior Elizabeth Allebach.
She is talking about mass shootings. The federal government defines mass shootings as four or more people injured or killed. According to Shooting Tracker, there have been more than 350 mass shootings in the United States this year.
Allebach and three others students put up the "What if LVC" banner in Lynch Memorial Hall to bring awareness to the issue.
The banner has bullet casings dangling from it. Each bullet represents a mass shooting on the east coast according to one of the group members, senior Matt Healy. There is about 150 casings.
The group hopes this will spark dialogue about safety.
"If we don't change things, this is what will happen. These bullets will be lying all over the quad, all over our classrooms, and how would that make you feel," Allebach said.
"We're looking for something that comes up with a solution," Healy said. "Something to stop these mass violence incidents."
Allebach said they are working with public safety to create protocol for a mass shooter situation.
