HARRISBURG, PA. — Gov. Tom Wolf issued a temporary reprieve of the execution of Antyane Robinson, whose execution had been set for December 18, 2015.
The temporary reprieve will remain in effect until the governor has received and reviewed the forthcoming report of the Pennsylvania Task Force and Advisory Committee on Capital Punishment, and any recommendations contained therein are satisfactorily addressed.
Robinson is on death row for the June 1996 murder of Rashawn Bass, of Susquehanna Township. Bass was visiting Robinson’s ex-girlfriend, Tara Hodge at her Carlisle apartment when Robinson arrived. He got into argument with Hodge and shot her three times. Robinson then shot Bass seven times in the bathroom of the apartment.
Hodge managed to drag herself to her next door neighbor for help. She survived her wounds and identified Robinson as the man who shot her and Bass. He was arrested on July 1 while playing video games at a Prince George’s County, Maryland shopping center near his parent’s home.
Robinson was convicted of first degree murder and other charges in 1997. Several death warrants have been signed for Robinson who has filed multiple appeals.

Only three executions have been carried out in the Commonwealth since the death was reinstated. All three occurred after the inmates voluntarily waived their right to appeal. Gary Heidnik, of Philadelphia, was the last death row inmate executed in 1999.
