YORK CITY, Pa.–Charges were filed Wednesday afternoon against a man accused of beating a dog in York City over the weekend.
Luis Junior Cruz-Padro, 28, of York is charged with one count of cruelty to animals.
The alleged incident happened Saturday along the first block of East South Street. Cruz-Padro is accused of punching the dog several times in a backyard, according a news release from the York County District Attorney’s office. He then proceeded to whip the dog, using a strap like object.
The beating was captured on video and quickly went viral after a witness posted it on Facebook.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
