YORK, Pa. - York City  Police are investigating a double shooting that led to a new father's murder.

Officers were called to 725 Pennsylvania Ave. for reports of shots fired around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Police believe that the shooting was an attempted  home invasion, and that the victims and the location were targeted. Officials say they found DaKeem Dennison and Damon Banks Jr. inside the home. They were taken to York Hospital. Police say Banks has a gun shot wound to the buttocks. Dennison, 19, died at the hospital leaving behind his two month old daughter.

"Just had her and now, she doesn’t have a father because someone decided to take my little cousin’s life," said Natasha Sutherland, Keemie’s cousin.

He is his mother's only child. Police are still searching for a suspect.

"We want justice. We want to know who did this and we want them to pay for it," said Sutherland.

While an act of violence is unnerving to the neighborhood in which it occurs, police want to assure the public this was not a random act.

"You kind of think like , why him? You get kind of angry is the first reaction that you’ll get, but it’s complete shock," said Darrell Williams, Keemie’s family friend.

Keemie graduated from William Penn High School in 2014. While there, he played football and basketball. He also ran track.

Dennison's viewing and funeral will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church on 740 West Locust Street in York on  Monday, December 28th. The viewing will take place from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. The funeral will start at 11 a.m. His reception will be at Grace Lutheran Church in York. Anyone willing to donate food can drop it off at the church.

A gofundme page has been started to cover funeral costs. Any left over funds will go to his daughter.

Anyone with information is asked to call the York City Police Department at 717-846-1234 or 755-TIPS.
