NEAR RECORD WARMTH FOR CHRISTMAS
This evening a cold front drops south, it will be followed by drier air, which helps to clear the skies a bit. High pressure builds in behind it briefly before sliding to the east. Lows will be mild in the low 50s. Some areas north and west may dip to the upper 40s. Highs will once again be well above average in the low to mid 60s. The record high for the day is 66 set way back in 1889. Late in the day, a weak wave of low pressure will ride along the stalled frontal boundary to our south. It may bring a few showers late in the day. The best chance will be in our southern counties. Most of the day remains dry with increasing clouds.
GLOOMY WEEKEND
It is looking pretty overcast and showery for the weekend, especially, Saturday. The stalled front to our south slowly moves northward and brings the threat for showers. An easterly flow sets up for much of the day until the front pushes through late. This means lots of clouds and showers around, which will keep highs in the 40s. By Sunday, the front moves through early. Despite the front to our south, temperatures will be very mild once again. They will shoot well into the 60s under mostly cloudy skies. A few showers will still be possible but there will be plenty of dry hours to enjoy outside.
A COOLER PATTERN
A disturbance comes through Monday which will bring a cool shot to the area. Temperatures will be held down in the 40s. Another low tracks west of us, through the Great Lakes overnight into Tuesday, bringing more showers to the area. We could actually see a mix for some before changing to all rain. It will be a chilly, wet day in the low 40s.
