DOVER, Pa.--

A special family got a visit from Saint Nicholas a day early. Arthur Kirk and Sharnette Smith-Kirk are caring for six children now. They brought in four after they were taken from an abusive home. Two of those children have special needs.

Sharnette was forced to step away from her job to take care of the children.

"She volunteered to take all four kids into her home and plans to adopt them," Erin Lindenmuth of Golden Rays of Hope said.

Her group works with people with special needs across the country.

Erin put a post out on Facebook to help get donations of toys and money for the family.

Renee Cole at Quad Graphics in York saw the post and got her co-workers to help the family.

"We want to do this but want to make sure it's a miracle for the kids," she said.

They gathered boxes upon boxes of toys. On Christmas Eve, workers of Quad Graphics and Lindenmuth came in to get the mountain of presents over to the family in Dover.

The four children were surprised to see Santa a day early. The gifts ranged from toys to supplies the family needed to get them started off on the right foot with four new children.

"We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas," mother Sharnette Smith-Kirk said. "This will be a memory for the rest of our lives."
