CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.–A Chambersburg man was arrested Monday after police said he fired several shots to scare away a man who had been having an affair with the mother of his children.

Andre M. Parker, 35, is charged with simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. He was arraigned and taken to Franklin County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Officers responded to the intersection near East Washington and South Third Streets for a report of shots fired shortly after 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The victim told police he had been talking to a woman who he had been having an affair with, when Parker showed up and fired off several rounds.

Investigators learned the woman called Parker because the victim had threatened to disclose the nature of their relationship to him.

Parker was later arrested and police recovered the gun.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 1.

Anyone with information is asked to call Chambersburg Police Department at 717-264-4131 or Franklin County Crime Solvers at 717-263-3000.
