Harrisburg – Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner Tyree C. Blocker today announced troopers seized over $118 million in prohibited drugs in 2015.

“In 2015, state police seized over $118 million in prohibited drugs – which is an increase in the amount seized in 2014,” said Blocker.

In the fourth quarter of 2015, troopers seized over 11 kilos of heroin and over 1,000 pounds of marijuana with a combined approximate street value of over $15.8 million. In addition, state police seized over 20 kilos of cocaine with an estimated street value of $2 million.

“Our troopers have made great strides in enforcing Pennsylvania drug laws and will aggressively prosecute individuals involved in illegal drug activity within the Commonwealth,” said Blocker.  “These seizures confirm our obligation to the citizens of Pennsylvania by defeating these illegal criminal enterprises that have a devastating impact on the quality of life in our neighborhoods.”
