‘It’s awesome,’ Millersville University baseball team signs 8-year-old as honorary player

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. - Team Impact is a national organization that aims to improve the quality of life for kids with chronic and life-threatening illnesses.  They reach their goal by places kids on teams. Friday night, the Millersville University baseball team officially signed Keith Wagner, 8, to their team. Keith, who lives in Quarryville had to have a kidney transplant about a year and a half ago.

"I can't really do any sports so, I was kinda glad that I could do this," he said.

Wagner will wear #7 and is invited to be in the locker room, dug out and even press box at as many games as he wants. He is even welcome to practice with the team.

"So, I can't wait," he added.

"It was awesome for all of us to add Keith to our team. We are all really excited to have him on board and make him part of the team," said senior shortstop Tyler Orris.

"It's awesome. It fits the values of our program. We are really happy to do it and hopefully we make an exponential impact on Keith," said coach Jon Shehan.
