YORK, Pa.–This upcoming weekend Yorkers may be faced with the first major snow fall of 2016.   Residents and Businesses parking on York City Snow Emergency routes should closely follow the news. If York City declares a Snow Emergency parking on these street will be prohibited during the emergency. Please be fully prepared to park on a side street or City parking lot if the emergency is declared. All vehicles parked on a snow emergency route will be towed at the owner’s expense.

York City Snow Emergency Routes are identified as Philadelphia Street, Market Street, Princess Street, George Street and Queen Street. Beaver Street between North Street and College Avenue and Duke Street between North Street and Jackson Street. All emergency routes are identified by street signage.

Any declaration of a Snow Emergency by York City will be reported to local news. Please follow your local news for this information.

The City has over 500 fire hydrants protecting businesses and neighborhoods. Please help Fire/Rescue Services by shoveling the snow away from nearby hydrants. Please clear an area of at least three feet around the hydrant.
