HARRISBURG, PA – Harrisburg School District officials say that Camp Curtin Academy and Head Start @ Camp Curtin will reopen for classes and after school activities on Friday.

In a statement released late Thursday the district said that through a well-coordinated, labor intensive effort, the Facilities Director/Team from Harrisburg School District, along with HVAC mechanics from the McClure Company and support staff from NRG have restored heating systems throughout Camp Curtin Academy. The district will resume progress on its comprehensive energy savings (ESCO) project as soon as retrofit parts that were special ordered arrive and the facilities team and contractors are able to test them for their durability.

The EXPLORE After School Program at this location will also resume tomorrow at its regular time. Teachers, staff and students are to report at their regularly scheduled time.

The Harrisburg School District has notified parents, guardians and staff at Camp Curtin Academy via its School Messenger system and building administrators.
