YORK, Pa- Mayor C. Kim Bracey has issued a declaration of disaster emergency in the City of York, effective 10 A.M. Saturday, January 23rd, due to the severe snowstorm.

In addition, a travel ban is in effect starting 10 AM, Saturday, January 23rd.

Until further notice, nonessential vehicle travel is banned on all City streets. Nonessential vehicles are defined as vehicles other than the following – emergency service vehicles, police and fire, public works, public utilities vehicles, bonified snow removal contractors and health care workers. Penalties will be imposed in accordance with state law.

Vehicles abandoned on City streets will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Mayor Bracey also reminds residents that a snow emergency is still in effect in the City of York and parking is prohibited on all snow emergency routes until further notice.

This declaration of disaster emergency will remain in effect until further notice. Additional restrictions may be announced at a later time.
