Cleanup efforts continue in Lancaster following last weekend’s record breaking winter storm.

Crews were up bright and early Wednesday morning working to clear several city streets that are still snow covered.

Over on Mary and Lemon Streets, they used heavy equipment such as skid loaders and dump trucks to remove the large mounds of snow.

Dave Laughman is a heavy equipment operator with Rhino Excavating.  His company was contracted by D & R Repair to help with the snow removal.

He says their team has been working around the clock for several days now.

“Absolute chaos,” Laughman said. “We’ve been moving snow for 24, 36, 48 hours nonstop; constant plowing, constant pushing, trucks in and out.”

He said at one point they had about 15 pieces of heavy equipment along Orange Street in Lancaster.

The Director of Lancaster's Public Works Department says they expect all city roads to be cleared by Monday, at the earliest.
