QUIET END TO WEEK: Some sunshine and hazy areas start Thursday, and it is frigid too. Black ice will be a concern, especially on the secondary roads through most of the morning. Otherwise, clouds build during the afternoon ahead of a weak disturbance. Afternoon highs are in the lower 30s. Overnight and close to daybreak on Friday, some flurries are possible as the weak disturbance moves through. The rest of Friday remains quiet, with readings in the lower to middle 30s. Clouds decrease slowly through the afternoon as the wave exits.

Weekend Outlook

WEEKEND WARMING: The weekend slowly moderates, so we’ll see more snowpack melting take place. Saturday brings partly sunny skies, with highs a bit above seasonal averages near 40 degrees. Some more sunshine sneaks in Sunday. Temperatures sneak up a bit more too, with highs hovering in the middle 40s.

NEXT WEEK: There are some timing questions for our next system early in the week. On Monday rain showers are in the forecast as it pushes through the region. Some sunshine returns briefly on Tuesday before more rain showers move in for Wednesday. Temperatures remain well above average through this time.

Have a great Thursday!
