LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa- A jury convicted a Lititz man Wednesday of DUI – his 7th intoxicated-driving conviction.
Wayne Edward Busha, 57, will stand for sentencing in about two months, after a background check is completed.
He faces at least a year in state prison, an 18-month license suspension, and a $2,500 fine.
The background check will show Busha has 6 prior convictions of DUI, two of those happened in the past 10 years and will impact his sentence on the latest conviction, according to Assistant District Attorney Ande Gonzalez.
Prosecutors will seek a sentence beyond the mandatory minimum.
The most recent incident, on April 24, 2015, started with a report of Busha causing a disturbance at the Bent Creek clubhouse on Bent Creek Drive.
The responding officer followed Busha’s pickup truck as it traveled on Fruitville Pike, then accelerated onto Koser Road – in front of another vehicle, causing that vehicle to stop to avoid impact.
A Manheim Township Officer pulled over the pickup truck near Randolph Drive.
Busha was slurring his words, smelled of alcohol, and had watery eyes, according to the police report.
When asked how much alcohol he had, Busha said, “Too much to be driving.”
During field sobriety tests, Busha told the officer he “knew he was drunk.” Bush refused to submit to a blood test.
