Child with BB gun on school bus; parents arrested on drug charges

YORK COUNTY, Pa. – On Tuesday, February 2, at about 3:30 pm Lower Windsor Township Police were alerted that a female student at Eastern York High School had brought a handgun to school and had it on the school bus.

Police obtained a search warrant for the girl’s parents home to locate the weapon.  During the search police observed suspected narcotics in a plain view on the middle bedroom nightstand. The child’s parents Montez, 37 and Misty Martin, 30 gave police consent to search the entire house and their vehicle.

They discovered numerous narcotics, unknown pills, two scales, and marijuana. Used heroin packets were found in two small cardboard boxes underneath a tv stand in the middle bedroom. All the suspected drugs were field tested and came up positive for heroin and marijuana. All the drugs were seized. Also seized was $1080 in cash found in a pocket of  Montez Martin’s undershorts.

Six children living in the home were turned over to an older daughter.

Charges against the Martin’s include Manufacture of Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Controlled Substance, and Endangering Welfare of Children.

So far no charges have been filed against the juvenile who had the handgun.
