Cemetery owners charged with theft from customers

YORK COUNTY, Pa. –  Arminda Martin, 45 and Theodore Martin, 52, both of 5400 Lakewood Road in Ravenna, Ohio have been charged for their role in taking money from customers of their York County cemetery and not providing the services paid for.

The Martins are the owners of Suburban Memorial Gardens located at 3875 Bull Road in Conewago Township.  Charges against the Martin’s include Theft by Deception and Receiving Stolen Property.

Numerous complaints have been received by Northern York County Regional Police in regards to monies being paid to the Martins for memorial plaques and grave markers.  The Martins accepted the money, but never followed through with the purchase or installation of the plaques or markers.

It is believed other victims exist.  If you have ordered and paid for memorial plaques or grave markers at Suburban Memorial Gardens, and they were not installed, please contact the Northern York County Regional Police Department at (717) 292-3647.
