CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. – The Cumberland County Coroner is on the scene of a fatal crash involving a car and school bus. It happened at about 12:49 pm at the intersection of West Trindle Road and South Locust Point in Monroe Township.

Two  of the 32 students  who were aboard the school bus were taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A female passenger in a Chevy Cruze was pronounced dead at the scene.  Three others in the car were taken to the hospital.  No word on the extend of their injuries.

The Cumberland Valley School District has notified parents of the accident. Following the emergency protocols the school district had in place, district administration was at the scene of the accident and an administrator and school nurse were at Holy Spirit Hospital to provide support to our students and first responders. Another school bus is taking the remaining students on the bus back to their school.

So, no word on the identity of the woman killed in the crash.
