Lititz, P.A. - Preparations are underway for the 11th annual Fire and Ice Festival in Lancaster County. The ice slide is one of more than 50 ice carvings that will be featured in this year's festival. Organizers expect nearly 30,000 people to attend the four day event, which kicks off tomorrow night with the party in the park and the downtown block party. There, folks can see live ice carvings, and check out various food vendors and shops downtown. Organizers say you can expect some cool surprises this year.
"It's more exciting than the last, you know, you try to figure out how you can top it," says Dawn Rissmiller, the event organizer. "We've made lots of little changes to every single venue, so when someone comes that's been here for ten years, they're still going to be seeing something completely different in every venue."
The festival will start tomorrow night at 5 o'clock.
